# fuel-prices.eu — European Fuel Prices Database

> Weekly Euro 95 petrol and diesel prices from the European Commission's Weekly Oil Bulletin, tracking all 27 EU member states plus the United Kingdom since January 2005. This site (fuel-prices.eu) maintains a complete historical archive of approximately 1.4 million price observations spanning over 20 years. Data is updated every Monday when the EU Oil Bulletin is published.

## Primary Source

All weekly price data originates from the [European Commission's Weekly Oil Bulletin](https://energy.ec.europa.eu/data-and-analysis/weekly-oil-bulletin_en), which aggregates official national average consumer prices reported by energy authorities in each member state. Prices include all taxes (excise duties + VAT).

## Live Price Sources

For France, Spain, Italy, and the United Kingdom, the site additionally ingests station-level live prices (updated multiple times per day):

Language switching is available at `/lang/{lang-code}` — e.g. `/lang/de` for German, `/lang/ro` for Romanian. Country names, UI labels, SEO descriptions, and crisis event names are fully translated. Number formatting (decimal/thousands separators) follows locale conventions.
